Summer Charcuterie Board
Summer entertaining would not be complete without a beautiful charcuterie board to share with family and friends. Take the best produce the season has to offer and all its vibrant colors and pile it high alongside a variety of cheeses and desserts. It’ll quickly become your go-to appetizer for all summer get togethers.
What You’ll Need
- A large charcuterie board that’s big enough to fit all the food items you plan to present. The board doesn’t need to be fancy or special; even a simple cutting board will work.
- To mix together the cake roll pieces and ice cream, we recommend using a blender.
- A large bowl, container, or tub that you can fill with ice to store your various kinds of ice cream. This will prevent your ice cream from melting too quickly during your get together.
Storage Information
It all depends on what you choose to include on your Ice Cream Sundae Charcuterie Board. Candies and ice cream cones are easy to store; you can put them back in the containers they came in. The ice cream can just be put back into the freezer. Make sure to keep it frozen until you’re ready to serve.
Tips for Making an Ice Cream Sundae Charcuterie Board
- Choose items with a variety of flavors, textures, and colors. This will allow your board to be enjoyed by the greatest number of people while also making it appear fun and vibrant.
- To help balance your board, avoid putting too many similar items next to each other. This allows you to create contrast in color and texture thus maximizing the visual appeal of your board.
- Feel free to move and adjust items as you go. Tweak and alter the placement of items as you add more to your board until you achieve the look you want. Also, keep in mind that you can have items slightly hanging over the edge of the board to achieve a more natural and effortless look.

Instructions
Prepare the Cake Roll Ice Cream
- Cut two slices from each of the three cake rolls. Put the rest of the cake rolls back into their packaging and store in the refrigerator. You can enjoy them later.
- Take the Strawberry Cheesecake Cake Roll slices and cut or tear into small pieces. Then, place in a blender along with the strawberry ice cream. Blend until well combined. Place the blended ice cream back in the freezer to prevent melting.
- Repeat step 2 with the Chocolate Crème Cake Roll slices and chocolate ice cream.
- Repeat step 2 with the Lemon Crème Cake Roll slices and raspberry lemonade sherbet.
Assemble the Ice Cream Sundae Charcuterie Board
- Take your large bowl, container, or tub and put it in the center of your board. Dishes help anchor the board and give it structure, so it’s important they go on first.
- Next, place your syrup and sauces in small bowls with spoons. Place these dishes on the charcuterie board.
- For our board, we used flat-bottomed ice cream cones as the “bowls” for our various candies and toppings. Fill your ice cream cones to the top with the smaller candies and nuts you chose for your board. Then, place them at several spots around the board. You’ll want at least a few on each side to ensure your board is well balanced.
- Fill in the gaps with your larger topping options like marshmallows, mini cookies, fruits, waffle cone bowls, waffle cones, dipped cones, etc.
- Tip: You can use the waffle cone bowls to hold your strawberries and cherries!
- Before serving, fill the large container in the center of your board halfway full of ice. Then, take the ice cream pints out of the freezer and put them in the container. Next, add more ice around the pints to ensure they stay cold. Finally, add in your serving spoons and enjoy!
